Dr. Adela Ames, DHA(c), Ed.D, Ed.S., MPA - With nearly three decades of diverse and impactful experience, Dr. Ames-Lopez honed her expertise across the intersecting realms of state and municipal government, higher education, and the non-profit sector. Throughout her career, she has held executive and senior leadership positions in a variety of organizations, each presenting unique challenges and opportunities.

Dr. Ames-Lopez’s journey has been defined by a relentless dedication to serving the public, navigating intricate bureaucracies, and spearheading initiatives that drive positive change. She has implemented several groundbreaking programs and initiatives, including the Missing and Runaway Children Council for Mercer, Hunterdon, Somerset, and Warren Counties, which not only focused on addressing cases of missing and runaway children but also played a crucial role in combating the insidious crime of human trafficking, and ensuring the safety and well-being of our most vulnerable youth.

During the unprecedented challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, she led the implementation of impactful initiatives such as the State of New Jersey's 1st COVID Homebound Program, providing vital support to the most vulnerable population. Additionally, she played a pivotal role in establishing the City of Trenton's COVID clinic and the City of Trenton’s Street Team, demonstrating her commitment to public health, community violence, trauma, and outreach.

 Furthermore, her dedication to empowering individuals and fostering positive relationships was highlighted during her initial creation of transformative programs such as the Big Brothers Big Sisters Parent Advocate Program and its School-Based Mentoring Program, which have made a lasting impact on the lives of countless individuals.

 From shaping policy in government to fostering innovation in higher education and driving social impact in the non-profit realm, she has consistently delivered results while upholding the highest standards of integrity and accountability. Dr. Adela Ames-Lopez, a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., is a Certified Six Sigma White, Yellow, and Green Belt, Forensic Interviewer, SMC Full Circle Birth Doula addressing maternal health outcomes, and a Subject Matter Expert/Curriculum Developer for Thomas Edison State University’s Human Services Program.  She is the Chair of the Camden County FEMA Local Board, Co-Chair of the Human Services Industry Advisory Committee at TESU, Two-Term Board Member of the Mercer County Commission of Abused, Neglected, and Missing Children, Member of ASPA – American Society for Public Administration – NJ Chapter, Board Member of It Takes a Village – Housing, and Corresponding Secretary for NJ Federation of Democratic Women – Burlington County.
